" I will try again tomorrow"

Courage does not always roar. Sometimes courage is the quiet voice at the end of the day saying, I will try again tomorrow". I chose this because it refers to my personal life with my family.

My dad got remarried and things were rocky between me and my stepmom with many things. It got so bad. I ended up walking out of my dad's life because it was not a good atmosphere for me at all. I didn’t think about where I was going to live, or anything. Just know I had to leave and get away. Within a week, I found a place to live and continued to go to the school without my father. It was hard because I was used to my old life. I never had to pay for anything but suddenly had to do everything on my own. I had to get a job, and find my own transportation. I had to put myself through college without my dad’s help. I felt hopeless at first, things would never get better. I remember waking up every morning and saying today is a new day which is similar to "I will try again tomorrow".

As weeks passed, things got better for me. I found a job and now attending University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I think a lot of people can relate to this quote but in different situations. Everybody go through rough situations in their life span. We may not speak out a loud but in our thoughts “Tomorrow is a new day”. It can give people strength to carry on another day.

I like the way the author used her words. She used personification to describe courage. Personification made it more personally and realistic, at least to me. For example, roar and the quiet voice makes it more meaningful because we can relate to the terms. Rather than saying, Courage is not always noticeable but saying I will try again tomorrow. It makes a big difference in way you writing by appealing to the readers in a realistic way. So, they can understand the message better. Also, she uses metaphor to describe the courage like personification. For example, she compares courage to the roar of the voice. Courage can’t literally roar but you can picture it in your mind. It’s as similar to comparing Courage as a quiet voice but you can imagine as a thought passing through your mind. I like how she added a quote within a quote. The quote “I will try again tomorrow”, because she connect to the audience. Most audience can relate and mostly likely experience a difficult situation and quoted this phrase or something similarly to it. Lastly, the author keeps it simple. I don’t like quotes that are long or have a lot of big words in it. You can understand it and don’t have to figure out the author meaning. A third grader can read it the quote and comprehend it. Also, it’s easier to remember it.

Reflection

It  was one of my favorite small stakes assigmnent this semester. I love quotes. I feel like quotes tell a story about everybody. This quotes describes me as a person. I never thought about a quote as a writing aspect but it was intersesting. Instead of looking at the overall meaning, i dissected the quote. I learned that there are personification in my quote. I like how the author connect to the audience. Anybody can relater. It taught me to use simple things to capture the audience.
