The Inquiry Question
I chose to do how language effects the happiness and pain. When I started researching it, I started to realize it was too specific. So, I switch it now. My research proposal is now how language can effect emotions. I chose this area because everybody go through a variety of emotions everyday because of the words used. Also, I am a major in psychology. So, the mind of people interests me and their thoughts. I don’t have any personal knowledge or experience. I am just curious and everybody go through emotions. It took me a long to time to figure out the topic I wanted to do. A Taylor Swift quote made me think about emotions and how emotions play an important role in language. I don’t know much about the topic except it that people going through a lot of emotions and most people don’t really think about the reason why’s. I didn’t think about it until I saw a Taylor Swift quote. It made me wonder. I need to know scientifically more to see where emotions come from but also I need to be able to generalize. So, people can understand and don’t get confuse. I was still all over the place with different type of ideas until the Research Topic Presentations.
Research Topic Presentations
I wished i went the first day. I might have started my research paper earlier but presentations help me a lot on my topic. I was confused at first but soon realized it was not just me. I liked how the peers help the student give them options. It help me focus on one topic instead of general topics. It felt like i was back on track.

Reflection
Inquiry Project was long, confusing and interesting. The confusing part about the project was the blog. I never did a blog and there was so many things to it. Also, the topic was taking me so long to delevop. I wanted to do something that interests me but we had a long time to figure out our topic. After the presentations, things did pick up speed but it made me focus better on my paper. After the presentations, I knew what direction I was going in. I found variety of information on verbal abuse and physical abuse. From my review, I forgot to add my own personal opinion. I was thinking more of a research paper but its a argumentative paper. In my final paper, I focused on my opinion. Also, I got outside help for my grammer. I dont reread my paper. I made crazy mistakes but it was an interesting journey.

So great topic! Words trigger emotions in people. I know that when my father raises his voice, I will immediately feel very sad. So now when any man raises his voice at me, I will feel distraught. A great way to start this would maybe study emotions and what triggers them and go from there!
